Patricia Joy Lewis

Patricia Joy Lewis, age 86, died Thursday October 22, 2020 in Crestwood Care Center in Shelby. 

Born March 4, 1934 in Harrisburg, PA to Robert Paul & Audrey Dell (Cross) Cowell she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life. Pat was a graduate of Alderson Broaddus College in West Virginia, with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She was employed with the Shelby School System teaching second & third grade for many years before retiring in 1986. Pat was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where she was active in Sarah Circle. She enjoyed dining out and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Kevin) Stone of Shelby; three grandchildren, Joshua Aaron Stone, Jeremiah Evan (Bethany) Stone all of Ontario and Hannah Elizabeth Stone of Shelby; one sister, Shirley Jane Kemp of West Virginia and one brother, Maynard Lynn Cowell of Pennsylvania; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Norman Lewis, three brothers, Paul Edward Cowell, Robert Gene Cowell and Norman Dean Cowell.

Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Funeral services will be held following calling hours at 11:00AM. Reverend Jeffrey Croft will officiate with interment held in Oakland Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church at 209 E. Main Street, Shelby, OH 44875.
