Paul Detillion Obituary

Paul Oliver "Bozo" Detillion, age 77, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Avita Health Systems in Ontario.

He was born on March 23, 1943 in Beaver, Ohio to Dwight and Mildred (Bowman) Detillion. Paul had attended Waverly High School, and later enlisted in the United States Navy where he served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After his time in the service, Paul worked at Copperweld for 30 years before his retirement in 2002. He was a proud member of the Taylortown Community Church where he served as Head Deacon. Paul was an auto mechanic enthusiast who enjoyed working on his friends and family's cars whenever they needed him. He also loved woodworking, bird watching, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Judith (Hall) Detillion whom he married on October 30, 1996; his children Kelly Donathan of Galion, Bryan (Teresa) Detillion of Shelby, Patty (Mike) Coleman of Shelby, LeaAnn Lorentz and Ken Hatfield of Mansfield, Charles Johnson of Baltimore, MD, and Lena (Steve) Davis of Mansfield; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Juanita (Ron) Mitchem of Dayton, Ed (Betty) Detillion of Shelby, Daniel (Karen) Detillion of Waverly, and Mike (Janie) Detillion of Massachusetts; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his first wife Bobbie Jo (Fultz) Detillion; and his brothers Carl, Jim, Tim, Robert, and Ronald Detillion.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Taylortown Community Church in Shelby at 12:00PM. Pastor Doug Tackett will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Taylortown Community Church on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM. Memorial contributions can be made to the Taylortown Community Church at 2656 Taylortown Road, Shelby, OH 44875. Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
