Ralph "Junior" Cain Jr., age 89, resident of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020 in his home.
Born March 13, 1931 in Shelby to Ralph and Lausie (Jacobs) Cain Sr., he had been a lifelong Shelby resident. A Veteran of the United States Navy, he had taken pride in taking care of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery for numerous years. Junior was an avid Shelby Whippet sports fan, especially the wrestling team, who he was proud to say he lived long enough to witness them win a NOL championship title in 2007. He loved listening to Johnny Cash and watching Grit TV. Above all, Junior loved to spend time with his kids and grandkids, and enjoyed buying them pizza and ice cream.
He is survived by his children Crystal, Andrea, Tammy, Art (Carin), Tiffany (William); a crap ton of grandkids, a lot of great-grandkids, a few great-great grandkids and his dog Jesse.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beautiful and loving wife of 36 years, Rose (Chavez) Cain, daughter Candy, favorite granddaughter Natasha and his loyal K9 companion Nina.
In the words of Ralph, "Some have gone before, some will go after, the rest we'll leave to mystery..."
