Robert Edward Greter, age 83, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Crystal Care Centers of Mansfield.
Born June 2, 1938, in Shelby to Edward Joseph and Evelyn (McClain) Greter, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a 1956 graduate of Crestline High School and served in the United States Army. Robert completed his bachelor's degree from Cleveland State University in 1961, studying accounting. He retired from Mansfield Engineering Components, previously known as Mansfield Plating, in 2005 after over 33 years of employment. Robert along with his son, Ken, also farmed his land for numerous years.
Robert was a member of the Shelby First Lutheran Church, and enjoyed fishing, as well as woodworking. He had traveled to 49 of the 50 states, and also visited Canada & Costa Rica.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Shock) Greter, whom he wed on December 29, 1963; children Ken (Angie) Greter of Shelby, Richard (Carolyn) Greter of Streamwood, IL, and Anne Elizabeth Booker of Alabama; grandchildren Rob (Charity) Lash of Mansfield, Abbie (Bill) Roberts of Crestline, Andrea Greter of Streamwood, IL, Andrew Greter of Streamwood, IL, Michael Greter of Streamwood, IL, Amber Burkhardt of Findlay, Daniel and Ashley Booker of Marion, Aaron Booker of Galion; great-grandchildren Quin and Blakely Lash, Maylie and Raegan Roberts, Lillian and Danielle Booker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Matthew Robert Greter.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, May 6, 2022 in Oakland Cemetery Shelby, Ohio. Military honors will be provided by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad.
