Roger Allen Kerr, age 68, died peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at The Willows at Willard following an extended illness.
Born March 15, 1954 in Shelby to the late Richard "Dick" and Betty J. (Druschel) Kerr, Roger had been a lifelong Shelby resident. He was a graduate of Shelby High School before earning his bachelor's degree from Kent State University. He worked as a salesman for many years. Roger enjoyed spending time surrounded by nature and could often be found sitting next to a campfire, camping, fishing, and bird watching. However, the most important thing in Roger's life was his family and he deeply cherished the time that he spent with them.
Survivors include his loving children; Niki (Chuck) Miller of Shelby, Cody (Tanna) Kerr of Gahanna, Natalie (Chris) Koch of Shelby, and Sarah (Matt) Kilgore of Shelby, grandchildren; Mason Koch, Micah, Maddie, Max, Makena, and Maverick Miller, Addison and Everett Kilgore, and Brady and Bryant Kerr, and siblings, Barb (Randy) Morgan of Shelby, Sandy (Scott) Lencke of Columbus, and Rick Kerr of Columbus, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory for visitation on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Pastor Kevin Evans will officiate with interment held in Mansfield Cemetery.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Bird Sanctuary at 3774 Orweiler Rd, Mansfield, OH 44903.
