Scott Evans Obituary

Despite his fierce fight, Scott C. Evans, age 52, lost his battle to pancreatic cancer while surrounded by family on Friday, March 8, 2019 at his home in Crestline, Ohio.

Born November 27, 1966 in Crestline to Donald M. and Mary Lou (Joseph) Evans he spent most of his life living in Galion and then Crestline.

After graduating from Galion High School in 1985, he moved straight into the workforce and became a successful entrepreneur owning Evans Mechanical Contractor and then purchasing Central Ohio Plumbing, Heating and Cooling in 2008.

Survivors include one daughter Shannon Evans of Toledo; one granddaughter Makaylee; his parents Donald and Mary Lou Evans of Galion; three brothers Mike (Molly) Evans of Jackson, OH, Keith (Kristie) Evans of Shelby and Neil (Donna) Evans of Galion; two sisters Cheryl (Steve) Proctor of Logan, OH; Nicole (Buck) Workman of Mt. Gilead; stepson Rob (Tasha) Lisle, their children of Crestline; partner, Jodi Stirm; several nieces, nephews, and many other friends that he called “family”.

Those who knew Scott knew that he was a hard worker, straight forward, stubborn, and demanding. They also knew that he was insanely talented, fun to be around, and those that he loved - he loved with passion. He enjoyed time on the water and fishing wherever he could. He also enjoyed wood working, NASCAR, darts, and hunting.

Scott took his misfortunate diagnosis and used it to fuel his “bucket list” spending as much time as he could with those he loved doing what he loved. He also became an inspiration to those who were suffering from cancer by mentoring them and lifting their spirits, encouraging them to fight hard and never give up. The same advice he used until the end.

Funeral mass will be conducted 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Bethlehem. Father Chris Bohnsack will officiate.

Calling hours will not be observed. Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation at NPCF, P.O. Box 1848, Longmont, CO 80502
