Sharon Boor, 75, of Shelby, Ohio passed away January 23 in Sebring, Florida. Born May 31, 1945 in Dayton,Ohio to Lester and Martha (Hill) Gorsuch, she had been a Shelby area resident the majority of her life.
Sharon retired as a librarian from Pioneer Joint Vocational School, was a member of Shelby First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed Winters in Florida where she played golf and was active in Tropical Harbor Estates activities. She was an avid reader, great cook and wonderful friend. Sharon will be remembered for her sweet smile and gentle nature.
She is survived by James, her husband of 54 years; son Andrew and daughter-in-law Wendy of Lexington, Ohio, son Mason and partner Jen Hunter of Parma, Ohio. three granddaughters Kylee, Zella and Claire; her siblings Jean Hubbard of Centerville, Ohio and Marilyn (Ed) Cromer of Lake Placid, Florida; sisters-in-law Margaret Smith, Joy Marsella, Judy Hunter of Akron, Ohio; brothers-in-law David and Mary Ann of Huron, Ohio and Scott and Ann of Shelby, Ohio; nieces and nephews. Special friends Cheryl Depler of Shelby, Ohio and Roger and Carolyn Whitacre of Lake Placid, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her step mother Doris Gorsuch, whom raised her.
Friends and family may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 4:00PM- 6:00PM. Private family services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10:30AM. Reverend Jeffrey Croft will officiate with interment taking place at Oakland Cemetery.
