Stanley M. Smith

S. Mark Smith, age 62, resident of Shelby died on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Shelby Pointe nursing home. 

Born June 21, 1957 in Shelby to James E. and Phyllis (Neer) Smith, he was a life long Shelby area resident. A 1975 graduate of Madison High School, he was employed as a factory worker in maintenance. He was a past member of FOE in Shelby and was very passionate about being a volunteer for Mifflin Fire Department being the caring person he was. Mark enjoyed going to auctions, boating and collecting arrowheads. 

He is survived by his children Geneva Smith-Powell of Shelby and Warren Smith of Willard; grandchildren Jacob Powell, Raeghen Bistline, Preston Bistline and James Smith; sisters, Pam Smith Imhoff of Mansfield and Linda Smith of Mansfield; nieces and nephews Josh (Megan) Eaton, Dennis (Krista) Smith, Mandy (Dan) Devault, Heather Matthews and Jasmine Bettis; numerous cousins and other relatives. 

Mark was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved K9 companion Abby.

Services will be held at a later date. 

In place of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made in the form of donations to Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory to offset funeral costs.
