Stephan L. Faulkner, age 71, resident of Mount Vernon died Monday March 9, 2020 at his home. Born October 8, 1948 in Shelby to Laurence L and Joanne (Reynolds) Faulkner he had been a Shelby resident for many years moving to Mt. Vernon in 2006. He was a 1966 graduate of Shelby High School and was a graduate of DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago. He also was a graduate of North Central Technical College with a degree in computer networking. Steve was formerly employed with Liberty Mill in Galion and was then employed as a bookkeeper with Stambaugh and Co. in Willard, from which he retired. He was a volunteer with the Foster Grandparent Program at the Dan Emmett Elementary School in Mt. Vernon where he thoroughly enjoyed each day with his students.
Steve loved to read and work crossword and sudoku puzzles and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.
He is survived by his wife Pamela (Canter) Russell, whom he wed October 14, 2006; his son Dan Faulkner of Galion and one grandson Jacob Faulkner of Bowling Green, OH; two sisters Dianne (John Campos) Wright of Shelby and Jean (Ron) Wiggins of Lake Havasu City, AZ; his canine companion, Rosie and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Thursday March 12, 2020 from Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby. Pastor Gordon Harmon will officiate with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Barkdull Funeral Home, P.O. Box 644 , Shelby, OH. 44875 to help with family funeral expenses.
