Steve L. Blevins, age 60, died Thursday, November 18, 2021 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born August 23, 1961 in Morehead, KY to Simon P. and Betty (Sergent) Blevins, he had been a Shelby resident the majority of his life. He graduated from Shelby Senior High School in 1979. Steve was employed as a chemist with AK Steel retiring in 2021.
A member of the NRA, he enjoyed recreational shooting and playing cards with his family. Steve was an avid golfer and very talented musician and singer who had written many of his own songs. He was a hardcore Cleveland Browns fan. He will be remembered as a loving husband and the best father and poppy to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jennifer (Humphreys) Blevins; two daughters Amy (Lee) Robertson of Pickerington, and Cynthia (Jeremy) Baldridge of Reynoldsburg; seven grandchildren Lance Cpl. Jansen (Macie) Robertson, Courtney Robertson, Joshua Robertson, Jaden Robertson, Elijah Robertson, Anna Robertson, and Landon Baldridge; one great granddaughter, Avery Barker; siblings Jim (Janet) Blevins, Bruce (Rosemary) Blevins and Virgil (Melanie) Blevins, all of Shelby and Randy (Jennifer) Blevins of Bruno, WV, and many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Angela Robertson; son-in-law Jarod Robertson; sister Kathy Reynolds and brother Ronald Blevins.
Friends may call the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Elder Bill Canfield officiating with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
