Teena F. Barber, age 68, resident of Shelby died Wednesday July 17, 2019 at Ohio Health in Mansfield. Born April 28, 1951 in Shelby to John and Virginia (Laubie) Rudd she had been a lifelong Shelby resident. She was a 1969 graduate of Shelby Senior High School and received her Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from North Central State College. Teena was formerly employed with Miami Systems and was dispatcher for the Shelby Police Department retiring after twenty three years of service.
Teena enjoyed watching the old black and white television shows, especially Westerns and "Little House on the Prairie". She loved spending time with her family and relished the opportunity of doting over her grandson, Nathan.
She is survived by her son, Jason Barber of Shelby; her daughter, Jennifer (Gary) Board of Pittsburgh, PA.; one grandson Nathan Barber; two sisters Penny (Denny) Lepp of Bucyrus and Jill Rudd and Tim Hughes of Solon, OH; brother-in-law Jim Hughes of Upper Sandusky; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Ann Hughes.
Friends may call Monday July 22, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby. Memorial services will follow at 6:00 PM with Pastor James Robinson officiating.
