Terry L Russell

Terry L. Russell, age 81, resident of Shelby died Saturday January 2, 2021 at Ohio Health Shelby Hospital. Born November 15, 1939 In Shelby to Charles F. and Juanita (Christy) Russell, he had been a lifelong Shelby resident. He was a 1957 graduate of Shelby High School and while in high school he was employed with Cornell's IGA. He was then employed as a lineman with the United Telephone-Sprint Co. for 44½ years retiring in 2001. 

Terry was a dedicated member who had helped operate the Richland County Coon Hunters Club since 1963. He enjoyed trap shooting, fishing and playing basketball with his United Telephone buddies. He was an avid follower of the Ohio State Sports teams. Terry was a very family oriented person and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. 

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruth E. (Scheiber) Russell; son Chuck (Ina) Russell of Shelby; daughter Kim (Gerald) Haney of Tiro; grandchildren Cody Bland and fianceé Christine Ture, Christy (Rody) Phelps, Brandi Bland and fianceé Joe Rine; great-grandchildren Alyson Nichole Rogers, David Watt Rogers and Owen Fletcher Phelps; one sister-in-law Ruth Ann Russell of Leesburg, FL. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Charla Russell and one brother Craig Allen Russell. 

Friends may call Tuesday January 5, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory.
