Albert Dunn

Albert O. Dunn age 97, resident of Shelby, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.

Born February 18, 1919 in St. Clairsville, OH to Guy and Lena (Graham) Dunn, he had been a Shelby resident since 1950.  Albert was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in WWII. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodge #350 and the Richland County Fair Board for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and tending to his lawn.

He is survived by his son Ord Dunn of Evans, GA; three grandchildren Carty (Mark) Powers of Savannah, GA Spencer Dunn and Lindsay Dunn both of Atlanta GA; one brother Guy "Graham" (Ann) Dunn of Bucyrus.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years,Jane Dunn; siblings Ray Dunn, Martha Pyles, Opal Laipply, Gretchen Cundiff, and Grace Huntsman.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Sunday January 22, 2017 at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby. John Carter will officiate with interment 9:30 AM Monday, January 23 in Brokensword Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday, January 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
