Elizabeth “Betsy” O'Hara Stima, age 71, resident of Shelby, died Saturday, May 9, 2015, in Crestwood Care Center. 

Born July 7, 1943 in Shelby to Stanley William and Marjorie Elizabeth (Rollins) Shaver, she had been a lifelong Shelby area resident. A 1961 graduate of Shelby High School, she also attended Bowling Green University. Betsy was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and, most recently, employed at Kohl's Department Store in Ontario.

Survivors include one son, Steven "Steve" (Tira) Stima of Crestline; one daughter, Kathryn "Kathy" (Jamie) Elliott of Coppell, TX; three grandchildren, Garrison Stima, Jake and Jensen Elliott; one brother, Bill Shaver of Shelby; one sister, Becky (Delbert) Spring of Sandusky, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Betsy was an extremely devoted Ohio State football fan and was also very passionate about the Cleveland Browns and Indians. She loved attending her grandson, Garrison’s high school plays and was the number one baseball fan of her grandsons, Jake and Jensen. She also had a love for animals, especially cats.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celbrated at 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby. Father James Sanford will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Calling hours will not be observed. Memorial expressions may be made in Betsy's memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2131 Park Ave. West, Suite 123, Ontario, OH  44906.
