Georgia A. Stout

Georgia A. Stout, age 81, resident of Shelby died Friday morning April 10, 2015 at her home in Shelby.

Born May 9, 1933 in Kidder, Missouri to George Ferguson and Katie (Weber) Dungan, she had been a resident of Missouri the majority of her life moving to Shelby in 2012.

A 1950 graduate of Kidder High School in Missouri, she had worked as an accountant most of her life.

Georgia enjoyed reading, telling stories, cooking, drinking coffee and visiting with her neighbors. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, David (Vicki) Stout of Bainbridge Island, WA, her daughter, Rhonda Tunney of Shelby; grandchildren, Katie Huggins, Travis Reiman, Terri Tunney and Lorraine Tunney; great grandchildren, Austin, Kirsten, Nathan, Hannah, Alyssa, Kassidy, Allison and Hailey; one sister, Doris Mann of Liberty, Missouri, nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Stout, her son, Glenn Stout and seven siblings.

A celebration of Georgia's life will be held 6:00 PM Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Church of the Nazarene, 169 S. Mansfield Avenue in Shelby. In lieu of flowers memorial expressions may be made to the Synergy House, 400 E. 6th St., Parkville, MO 64152 or online at synergyservices.org. Her son, Glenn, founded this organization in 1970 to help troubled teens. Barkdull Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
