Michael D Helinski

Michael D. Helinski, age 45 of Lexington died Sunday September 24, 2017 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born June 28, 1972 in New Brighton, PA, to John & Donna (Tolley) Helinski, he has been a Shelby/Mansfield/Bellville resident his entire life.
A 1990 graduate of Shelby High School, Mike then attended the Ohio State University and graduated from Mt. Vernon Nazarene College with a bachelors of science degree.
During his childhood he was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby and most recently was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellville. Mike was an avid sports fan, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He also played baseball, softball, football and golf. 

Mike felt the most enjoyment attending and supporting his children in all of their sporting events and extracurricular activities.  He was a friend to all.  He could fix anything.  Mike could make you feel comfortable and welcome to any group in the first five minutes of conversation.  Mike ALWAYS took the road less traveled…it was his true sense of adventure.

He is survived by four children, Jordyne, Jacob, Kaylin and Kylee Helinski all of Bellville; his parents, John & Donna (Tolley) Helinski of Verona, KY; brother, John (Heather) Helinski of Hebron, KY;  sister, Amy (Levi) Kitchens of Independence, KY and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday September 30, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellville, where Rev. Doug Pretorius will officiate. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, an hour prior to the service. Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.
