William "Bill" J. Ellis

November 14, 1953 ~ May 7, 2015 (age 61) 61 Years Old

William Jonathan "Bill" Ellis, age 61 of Mansfield, died peacefully Thursday May 7, 2015 surrounded by his family at Hospice House of North Central Ohio.

Born in Shelby, he was the son of Mary Linn Ellis and Robert Ellis who survive him. Bill graduated from Shelby Senior High School with the class of 1972 and from The Ohio State. 
University in 1976 with a BA in in English Communications. He retired from the Kroger Company after 40 years of service.

Bill was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, always willing to lend support and help to anyone. He was a very talented artist and decorator with a unique flair for all things artistic.  Bill was also a lover of old movies and television programs, music, and cars--he was able to remember countless details about all of those subjects, which he would demonstrate to the amazement and amusement of others. He also enjoyed searching through antique stores and thrift shops for treasures which he often generously gifted to family and friends.  He was very much loved, and we will miss him always.

He is survived by a brother Robert (Peggy) of Ashland; two sisters, Elizabeth (Thomas) Watkins of Shelby and Janet Ellis of Mansfield; his foster sister Jennifer Ellis of Mansfield.  Also surviving are his life partner James Greggo of Mansfield; aunt, Barbara Burge  of Mansfield, uncle  Lloyd Linn of Oak Harbor, Washington, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents William and Lillian Winans Linn, his paternal grandparents Henry and Stella Schivinski Ellis, uncle Raymond Burge, and an aunt Dorothy Hicks Linn.

Per Bill's wishes funeral services will not be observed; however, a memorial celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr., Ashalnd, OH 44805. Private burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby is assisiting the family with arrangements.
