I am so sorry to hear of Cleo's passing. She was quite an amazing woman. Many, many softball memories, overnight stays and her sweet, sweet smiles. Cleo was always an encourager. What great times we shared. I have the utmost respect for her. My apology for not being able to attend the calling hours and service.

May God wrap his arms around you all.

As I mourn the loss of my beautiful Aunt Cleo in Florida...I reflect our treasured memories we shared. One I will share...I visited Aunt Cleo in FL at her home in Clearwater. We decided to spend the day at the beach. I picked her up in a convertible and of course I couldn't get the top down. We laughed but on we went. We rented beach chairs to keep the sand off of us. We talked about my parents as she knew so much that I didn't. We talked about her kids. We made exciting plans for the evening she wanted to take me to the dog track as I had never been and I don't believe she had either. Aunt Cleo and I had a beautiful day together that I will never forget. Our time in the FL sun became longer than we realized and we were getting dehydrated so we ordered a frozen cocktail to quench our thirst. We headed back home to get ready for the dog track....however, we didn't make it to the dog track. As many are aware I'm pretty fair in skin color and the FL sun torched me that day and even sunburned Aunt Cleo. Uncle Glen had to take care of both of us. He had to call the pharmacist cause I had sun poisoning on my lip...I remember him telling Cleo you know this girl couldn't be out in the sun that long. She said oh Dad (she always called Glen that) she'll be fine not really realizing we both were bad. So our big plans for the night were quickly halted as we both were in pain. Aunt Cleo and I never made it to the dog track but in memory of her I will go one day wishing she was sharing the moment with me....perhaps, I can get Uncle Glen to go with me.
Uncle Glen, I know you can never prepare for the loss of your wife, as the emptiness will be with you forever. Uncle Glen hold on to your treasured memories as you have many.
Hattie, Vickie, Denny, Tammie and Terry...you have lost a mother with that comes the loss of wisdom. My heart aches for the pain each one of you are enduring. Lean on each other and be there for each other.
Aunt Justine you've lost your last sister. It's heartbreaking to know you will never hear her voice on the phone again. I must share to all Aunt Cleo would tell me I heard from sis today I can't get her off the phone she loves to talk. And the funny thing is Aunt Justine would tell me the same thing I heard from sis today I can't get her off the phone she loves to talk. Sisterly love ...a bond no one can break.
Uncle Delmar, Richard and Marty you've lost your oldest sister. Reflect on memories...go back to your childhood memories share them with Aunt Cleo's children as it will mean so much to them. Stay in touch with Uncle Glen as he will need you guys.
Tears gently roll down my cheek as I mourn my Aunt Cleo....
Hugs and prayers to all. My deepest sympathy sent your way. And most of all, my love. Faith
