Maurice L Surgener

Maurice L. Surgener, age 49, resident of Shelby, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Ohio Health in Mansfield. 

Born September 6, 1966 in Portsmouth, OH to Finley and Dolly (Kennedy) Surgener, he had been a resident of Shelby for the past 10 years. Maurice was a 1985 graduate of Buckeye Central and attended the North Central State College in Mansfield for two years. Following his retirement, Maurice was owner operator of his own bio-hazard company.

Maurice was a member of the Church of God in Shelby, and enjoyed his time fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter Katie Surgener of London, KY; and one brother Finley R. Surgener of Shelby.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Jim and Maggie Surgener, and his maternal grandparents, Maurice and Inez Kennedy.

Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Funeral services will be held immediately after at 12. Pastor Rick Lewis will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
