Norma Jean Heacock

Norma Jean Heacock, age 82, former Shelby resident died Friday January 29, 2016 in Swanton, Ohio.   

Born January 30, 1933 in Crestline to Peter and Fern (Miller) Bopp, she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life moving to Swanton in 2010. A homemaker she was an active member of the First Lutheran Church. 

Norma enjoyed knitting, reading romance novels and was an enthusiastic fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. 

Survivors include her children, Rick (Kathy) Karr of Liberty Center, OH, Dave (Jenny) Karr of Mansfield and Peggy (Jack) Boggs of Fairview TN; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen  great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Ellen (Bill) Heacock of Galion; step daughter Carol Ann French; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Heacock; one son, Robert Karr; two brothers Richard and Ernie Bopp; one great grandson Titan Johnson. 

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday February 2, 2016 from the First Lutheran Church in Shelby.  Pastor Russel Yoak will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery.  Friends may call at the First Lutheran Church Tuesday from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2131 Park Ave W., Ontario, OH 44906.
