Our On-Site Crematory

Many families don't realize that some funeral homes contract with third-party crematories. In those cases, a loved one may be transferred to an off-site crematory, where they may remain for days or even weeks before the cremation takes place.

While many of these arrangements are handled professionally, a funeral home cannot truly oversee or verify every step of the process when it occurs outside of its care. Unless a licensed funeral director and certified crematory operator are able to manage and supervise the cremation from beginning to end, they cannot personally ensure that every step has been carried out according to their own standards.

At Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory, we believe families deserve that peace of mind.

Our funeral directors have completed advanced, state-approved training to become Certified Crematory Operators. Because we own and operate our own on-site crematory, every aspect of your loved one's care is managed by our experienced team—from the moment they are entrusted to us until their cremated remains are returned to your family.

We follow a carefully designed system of identification and verification throughout the entire process to help ensure the cremated remains returned to you are those of your loved one. Most importantly, your loved one never leaves our care.

That is our promise to you.

During a time filled with difficult decisions, we hope the knowledge that your loved one remains in the compassionate care of the same trusted professionals throughout the entire cremation process provides comfort, confidence, and peace of mind.
